New Vera Bradley Fall 2012 Patterns

The new fall 2012 patterns are finally here!!  This is the 2nd launch of the season, and I think I speak for everyone when I say the 2 releases for one season was a killer!!  Not only did we have to wait for fall to come, we had to wait a 2nd time to get our hands on more beautiful prints.

My new loves!!

Abby, Ribbon Board, and Medium eBook case in Provencal.

I've been after Abby for a long time now, so I'm more than thrilled to finally be adding this bag to my collection, especially in this beautiful print.

Spring 2013 Style: Little Hipster in Dogwood

I was scrounging around the internet trying to get the scoop on spring 2013 styles when I came across this cute little number at http://www.keywestboutique.com/. It's the Little Hipster in dogwood.
I've recently fallen head over heels for crossbodies and when I saw this, I had to have it. Unfortunately, it's not scheduled for release until spring 2013 *super sad face*
BUT this does give me something to look forward to since winter 2012 doesn't have much that appeals to me. I only want the little chain bag, but I'm not sure what print. Dogwood is slightly appealing, but I feel the large flowers would get lost on a small bag.

Vera Bradley Large Duffel Review

It's the time of year where kids are going back to college and people are still taking their summer vacations, and the holidays are right around the corner, which means traveling from place to place to celebrate the holidays with everyone you love.  Packing can be very taxing especially when your suitcase limits your choices.  Every girl needs a good bag whether it be for an overnight trip, a weekend getaway or a week long trip to visit the relatives.  If you find yourself in need of such a bag, conside the large duffel.  You can't go wrong with its classic shape and you know when it comes to functionality, Vera has you covered!!

Large Duffel in Very Berry Paisley (my all time favorite pattern)
The large duffel is a very versatile bag that has a zipper closure, keeping all of your items inside secure.  If you're wanting a bag to take to the gym, or the pool, this might be a little too big for you.  I used this bag on a 5 day trip to Seattle and was able to fit all of my clothes inside, (and I usually change clothes twice a day) shoes, my hanging organizer and everything I brought back with me.

Inside view
The inside of this bag has no pockets!!  This is probably the only change I would like made to this bag.  I would not recommend putting small things in this bag because the compartment just swallows them.

Outside pocket
The only pocket this bag does have is on the outside.  This pocket is very deep, I used this for a book and a few magazines.  It's not a very secure pocket so I would not recommend putting anything of value in here like a cell phone or boarding pass.

Depth of the outside pocket

For my move I was able to load 6 large towels, 4 hand towels, and a few face towels.

New fall colors and styles on VeraBradley.com

As August 30 draws near, I've been checking verabradley.com every morning for a sign of the new colors and styles, and today was like Christmas morning!!  The 2nd half of the Fall 2012 colors are now posted online along with several new styles, a few we've known about and a few new styles that have definitely caught my eye.  I already know that I will own something in Provencal and Canyon, now the battle is what styles to pick.

NEW Patterns:

Provencal

My favorite color in this release.  These colors bounce off this golden background beautifully and I cannot wait to see it in person.  This pattern may be coming out in fall, but I think this will be adorable in spring and summer also.

Canyon

I've heard a few people say they weren't crazy about the brown, but I think it will work great with a lot of people's wardrobes.  The browns are more neutral and easier to match with everyday clothes than some of the more vibrant colors.  I also love the little hearts mixed in the design.

Portobello Road

The first thing I think of when I see this pattern is Watercolor.  I may not be crazy about this pattern, but I know a lot of people that will.

It also looks like Vera is expanding what I'm guessing is their microfiber line.  Several of our favorite bags and accesories are coming out in this line like the Go Round Tote.

NEW STYLES
There are several new styles coming, and a few redesigns like the Saddle Up and the Weekender.  There are now a few different baby bags to choose from, I don't have any children, but I know several ladies that will love the new choices.  It looks like the bedding and school items will not be making an apperance in the new colors.

Cassidy in Provencal
This new style caught my attention immediately.  This looks like a great little handbag that could be used for a night out.  It is also in the microfiber colors.

So now that we finally get to see the new colors, on a computer screen at least, I can only think about my shopping list for the upcoming release.

Abby in Provencal
I've been wanting this bag for awhile, and now that I see it in this print, I know I must own this bag!!

Saddle Up in Canyon
I'm pretty excited about this redesign.  I was never a fan of the previous Saddle Up, but I do love a good crossbody bag.  The removal of the pleats makes for a more attractive bag to me and this bag makes Canyon look like a winner.

Medium ebook cover in Provencal
Ever since Vera released the new ebook cases, I've been dying to get one.  Being able to leave my Kindle in this case while reading is a big step up from the ereader sleeve, and of course I want to get this in my new favoite color!!

10 more days until August 30th...

Vera Bradley Spring 2013 Preview

Starting today, for the next 10 days, select Vera Bradley stores are previewing the new Spring 2013 patterns.  I have been dying to go to one of these since I first became interested in the brand and tonight was finally my lucky night!!  I always had this misconception that these previews must be top secret, and only for the fans on the inside, but I was so wrong.  As soon as we walked into the store, we were greeted and informed of all the new colors.  The new patterns are only available in select styles, but still worth the trip.  This time around they had the standard tote, Laura, Eloise, the large duffel, hipster, a few weekenders, grand travelers, most of the wallets, and the cosmetic bags.  If you get a chance to go, take it, all patterns look completely different in person.  Call around to your local stores and ask who has the previews because it's usually just one store in your area.

Go Wild

Eloise in Go Wild
This is a very cute print, and I know plenty of ladies are going to love the leopard print.  (My mom has already fallen in love with this one.)

Midnight Blues
Eloise in Midnight Blue
This one is for all the blue lovers out there.  Great shades of blue with a few accent colors.  Extremely floral!!

Plum Crazy
Plum Crazy
The name says it all!!  I like all the different colors in this bag.  I thought this was going to be my favorite new color, but I was very surprised by what caught my eye.  I'm sure I'll be getting a little something in this print!!

Jazzy Blooms
Eloise in Jazzy Blooms

My favorite new print for Spring 2013!!  I was so surprised, but as soon I saw it, I fell in love.  The way the colors pop off the gray background is beautiful and perfect for spring time.

Other Beautiful Totes...

Laura in a few new prints

Tote in Plum Crazy

Tote in Go Wild

Gorgeous hipsters coming soon...
Midnight Blue & Plum Crazy

Go Wild & Jazzy Blooms

The Go Wild is so cute in this bag, and the Jazzy Blooms is BEAUTIFUL!!  It's amazing I made it out of the store without this bag.

Large Duffel in Go Wild

This was the only duffel I saw in the new prints, but they did have a few weekenders and grand travelers.

What print are you most looking forward to?

Moving...

So I'm moving, and everyone knows moving is stressful and a pain in the you know what!!  One can only pack so many boxes.  I got this great idea from another Vera Bradley blog, www.ohmyvera.com, about using my numerous Vera bags to help me move!!  So I put Vera to the test.  I was able to pack my towels, linens and other Vera bags safely inside my larger bags.  This really works, and you don't have to worry about packing your sheets and things into a cardboard box.

Hipster Review

In honor of my amazing purchase last night, which I still feel was a steal, I decided to review the ever popular Hipster bag, especially since I now own 2.  I have grown really fond of this bag.  It's perfect for so many different occasions like shopping, sport events, going to work, catching a movie, I even took mine to the casino.  If you are looking for a great bag to carry a few everday items, this is the bag for you!!

My 2 loves!!  Hipster in Lime's Up and Indigo Pop

This bag has an outside pocket that extends to the bottom of the bag, I usually put my cell phone here, or sometimes my keys depending on where I am.  I have to admit this is not the most secure place for your phone, you might want to try one of the others depending on your surroundings.

I call this my, "secret front pocket."  Obviously it's not a secret since it's on the front of the bag, LOL, but it's more secure than the pocket above it.  My iPhone does not fit in here easily, I feel like it's too bulky.  If you have a smaller phone this might be a better fit for you.  I usually put my lipgloss in here for easy access.

The Hipster has a zipper pocket on the back.  This pocket is not as deep as the others, but it fits your larger phone PERFECTLY!!  This pocket is definitely more secure for important items.  It is a zipper closure, but still easily accessible to retrieve your phone or keys or whatever you decide to put here.

This bag has 3 interior pockets, that's it, very simple!!  I use these pockets for my zip ID, gum, and headphones or anything else small I might need that day.  The main compartment can hold a lot, but I would not recommend over stuffing this bag because then the shape fits weird against your body.  I use this bag when my stuff will not fit in my Frannie.

E Reader sleeve in Very Berry Paisley, small kisslock wallet in Indigo Pop, zip ID case in Viva La Vera, gum, LOL, the larger bag from the cosmetic trio in Summer cottage

What I carry in a normal day. I can fit my Kindle, wallet, makeup bag, zip ID, and some gum.  The essentials but not enough to load down the bag.

What all do you keep in your bag? Send us a pic, we'd love to see it!! averyveraworld@gmail.com

Happy Birthday, Vera!

Yesterday was the special birthday event that was on every Vera-lover's lips. It was a crazy fun time and as you can see from the pictures in the previous post, there was a huge turn out.
Before I get into anything else, I want to thank all the ladies at North Park Mall for throwing such a great event. Everything went so smoothly, and even as the store got super crowded things still seemed completely under control.  There was always someone making sure you had what you wanted and answering questions you may have.

My mom and I were completely overwhelmed with all the goodies. It was hard to decide what to get! Both of us spun and got the 20% discount. She finally decided on the Lindsay reading glasses in Baroque. As much as I wanted to get something that night, I decided to hold out for the last three prints of the fall release (Aug 31).  As we were leaving, we received goodie bags that had a 25% coupon, the cosmetic bag trio, and a cookie. I was super excited to see these prints (Camellia and Ellie Blue) because for awhile I wanted both of them, but never decided what bag to get them in. Now I don't have to wonder anymore! ^_^

Best Birthday Celebration EVER!!

So tonight loyal Vera Bradley lovers came out to get the birthday party started early!!  Vera locked us in and we got the party started!!  The specials going on are AWESOME!!  The Vera XL tote for $68 is unbelievable, I was very tempted at getting a bookbag for $48, and the XL duffel is an eye opening $58!!  Plenty of specials to fit everyone's wants and needs.

But let's not forget we were there to celebrate a birthday, and no birthday is complete without...

Cupcakes!!

When we walked in we were greeted with a prize wheel, everyone with a ticket received one spin, and everyone was a winner.

The prizes were 20% off, 25% off, 30% off, 50% off, and a $25 giftcard.  Can you guess what I got?

I was so excited!!  I screamed and jumped up and down, LOL.  And this was not 50% off one item, this was 50% off your ENTIRE purchase!!  I was like a little kid in a candy store.  My mother received 20% off, so we decided to use my, "golden ticket."

There were so many people in the store, you literally could not move an inch without touching someone.  Everyone was having a good time, visiting and shopping so it was a really great atmosphere.

This was the checkout line.  The line went from the register, all the way to the door.  My mom and I spent this time shopping, and chatting with other Vera lovers.

It was kind of neat being locked in, people kept walking by and looking in the windows.  You feel like such a VIP when something is closed to the public.

Yes, I got another Hipster, I know, I know, I already have one, but I love this bag so much and my mom got one too!!  We spent a lot of time strategizing how to best use this 50% off, so we decided to stock up on a few things.

Hipster in Baroque, Hipster in Suzani, Hipster in Indigo Pop, Mini Hipster in Suzani
We couldn't believe how much money we saved!!  I'm pretty sure my Mom is a Vera addict now!!  HAHA!!

No party would be complete without party favors!!  This was by far the best gift I've ever gotten from them!!  We each received a cosmetic trio, a cookie (of course), and a coupon for next time.

I think this was the best Vera night of my life!!  I didn't win any of the drawings, but I still left feeling like a winner.  Vera really knows how to throw a party and I highly recommend if you ever get the chance to attend RSVP as soon as you can!!  Until next time...
